The French Camp boys picked up their first win of the basketball season this past week.
The Panthers started fast and took a 43-31 win over Winona on Thursday after falling 69-50 to J.Z. George.
The Lady Panthers did not play J.Z. George on Tuesday after the Lady Jaguars were forced to cancel their game. The Lady Panthers then lost 53-28 against Winona on Thursday.
There was no information available on the Friday contests against J.Z. George.
French Camp will return from the Thanksgiving break as they will travel to Nanih Waiya on Monday, Nov. 28. On Thursday, Dec. 1, they will host Eupora and then travel to Pisgah on Friday, Dec. 2.
French Camp boys 43, Winona 31
The Panthers picked up their first win of the season with a 12-point win over the Tigers.
French Camp led 17-8 at the half and then outscored Winona 14-10 in the third to lead 31-18. Winona took the fourth period 13-12 for the final margin.
Nick Winters led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points while Gavin Fox and Ethan Wright each had 10 points apiece. Will Taylor and Bryce Wilson each had five points apiece.
Winona girls 53, French Camp 28
The Lady Tigers built a big lead and took a 25-point win over the Lady Panthers.
Winona opened up a 17-6 lead in the first period and outscored French Camp 13-6 in the second to lead 30-12 at the half. Winona extended the lead in the third, outscoring French Camp 10-7 to lead 40-19. French Camp took the fourth period 9-8 for the final margin.
Eden Box led French Camp with 19 points.
J.Z. George boys 69, French Camp 50
The Jaguars opened up a first-half lead and held on to take a 19-point win.
The Jaguars led 17-12 at the end of the first but then outscored the Panthers 23-7 in the second to lead 40-19 at the half. Each team scored 13 points in the third period while the Panthers outscored the Jaguars 18-16 in the fourth for the final margin.
Gavin Fox led French Camp with 14 points while Ethan Wright had 13 points. Will Taylor had nine points while Nick Winters added six points.
