In a special called meeting last Thursday, the Kosciusko Board of Trustees approved contracts and salary schedules for certified and non-certified staff.
The district was waiting for Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant to sign the budget before the contracts could be approved, which was signed two days earlier.
In other business the board approved the resignation of seven employees after meeting in executive session for over 80 minutes. Resignations include Cassandra Fulton, Regina Biggers, Shane Rodgers, Jessica Dickens, Christi Morgan, Katlin Tabor and James Culpepper. The district also approved a payment of $280 to Culpepper for unused sick days.
Donna Wood was hired as a librarian at the junior high after the resignation of Sherry Foster. The district also approved advertising for a gifted and talented teacher as well as a social studies at the junior high.
Other actions taken by the board include
• approval of the IHF graduation requirements;
• approval of the 2016-17 dress code;
• approved summer travel for boys soccer, football, baseball and basketball;
• approved student travel to a yearbook workshop in Jackson.
