A man is behind bars after a report of an armed robbery at the Dollar General on Hwy. 35 South in Kosciusko just before 10 p.m. Sunday night.
Cortavius Ferguson, 24, of Sallis was arrested at a residence after allegedly demanding money from a store worker and a shopper with a weapon. Ferguson fled the store on foot, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, green and blue tennis shoes and had a gun. A caller informed that the suspect was seen in a yard on Williamsville Road matching the description.
“I am proud of the good work done by my deputies to quickly get the situation taken care of,” Attala County Sheriff Tim Nail said.
Ferguson was charged with two counts of armed robbery and is being held at the Attala County Jail. The investigation is still ongoing.
