A street name change will officially take effect next week.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 1, F Street will officially be known as James H. Meredith Street, which was changed in June to honor the 50th anniversary of the civil rights leader’s March Against Fear.
The new signs have been in place for about a month, but time was given for residents on the street to make the changes in address.
Mayor Jimmy Cockroft says that the letters have been sent out to inform residents on the street of the change.
The street is located next to Sonic Drive In.
