Varied selections of music presented Sunday afternoon at the Mary Ricks Thornton Cultural Center resulted in “Sounds of Christmas,” annual program presented by the Attala Historical Society.
Katy Jo, Jake, Addy and Culley Newman set the holiday mood with their singing of “Sleigh Ride.” “Holly Jolly Christmas” and “Have You Seen This Child?” were sung by Dr. Don Weaver.
Christmas music continued with the Kosciusko High School Chorus singing “Silent Night” and “Go Tell it on The Mountain.” The group is directed by Stephanie Holmes.
First Presbyterian Church Choir, directed by Jackie Hill, sang “King of Glory,” the introduction to the program they will present on Dec. 18. Mrs. Hill also sang “Mary’s Song.”
Guitar selections were given by Macey Steed and Drew Townsend.
Concluding the afternoon program was Samantha Myles singing “Jesus is a Wonderful Child,” and “O Holy Night.”
Melanie Newman gave a prelude of piano music and for the grand finale she played “Joy to the World.”
