How much tape does it take to stick a principal to the wall? Apparently, it takes 639 pieces.
The students at Kosciusko Middle Elementary School were challenged to “GROW” from their previous diagnostic test. As a motivational tool to encourage second and third grade students to work as hard as they could on their most recent diagnostic tests, KME Principal Chris Terry agreed to be taped to the wall.
Any student who showed academic growth in math or reading was allowed to place a piece of
tape across Terry to help tape him to the wall. Many students grew in both areas and were able to put two pieces of tape on Terry. Through the hard work of the teachers and students putting forth extra effort, 318 students showed growth in reading and 321 showed growth in math.
Terry is excited about KME growth and believes this will carry over into April when the third grade students take their state tests.
