Drugs found in home after police respond to report of shots fired
Kosciusko police found over two pounds of marijuana, half an ounce of crystal meth and six grams of crack cocaine after receiving a call of shots fired at Hickory Hill Apartments on Hwy. 12 Thursday.
Officials received the call after a woman was shot at the apartment complex. After investigating the scene, police found the drugs along with two handguns and approximately $200 in cash, according to Kosciusko Police Chief Herbert Dew.
“My officers did an outstanding job fully investigating the scene,” Dew said. “This is a lot of drugs off of the streets. We make drug arrests all the time, but you generally don’t get this much at one time.”
Antonio Winters was arrested in connection with the crime. He is being held at the Attala County Jail on a $200,000 bond. He is charged with three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of weapon possession by a felon, shooting into a dwelling and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Captain Bobby Land, Officer Martin Roby and Officer Cody Williams were credited with the arrest.
