The Star-Herald welcomes its newest staff members, News and Sports Editor Jason Dustin, and Advertising Consultant Kaitlin Young.
Dustin was awarded a B.A. in journalism by the University of West Florida, and has previous newsroom experience at both daily and weekly
newspapers. A native of New Hampshire, Dustin lived in Pensacola, Fla., for five years prior to moving to Kosciusko.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity,” Dustin said. “My goal as an editor and reporter is to provide comprehensive and informative coverage that the community will value, and hopefully, find interesting.”
Dustin’s other interests include painting, keeping an eye on both collegiate and professional sports, and doing his best to keep his four cats happy.
Dustin may be reached at sportsed@starherald.net or by phone at 662-289-2251.
Also joining the team is Kaitlin Young of Kosciusko, who is our new Advertising Sales Consultant.
Young, a Kosciusko High School alumnus, attended Holmes Community College, is a certified phlebotomist, and has previous sales experience, which she gained though employment at Tower Loan.
When asked about her interests, Young smiled and said, “Well, I have a six-year-old daughter, so whatever she does.”
Her mother, Karen Young, was a teacher for the Kosciusko School District for 23 years. With those roots in the area, she is known to and knows many within the local community, which she believes will be an asset in her new position.
For any advertising inquiries, Young may be reached at 662-289-2251.
