A suspect or suspects shot more than 20 rounds from an AK-47 into a home on Attala Road 3057, known as Old Vaiden Road, after midnight Wednesday night.
The home is the residence of family members of Stephen Adams, a suspect in the fatal shooting of Rodney “Amp” Williams in the front yard of a home on Highway 43N just after 2 p.m.
Two adults and three children were in the home at the time of the incident, but no one was injured, according to Sheriff Tim Nail.
Nail said they don’t have a description of the suspects or the vehicle, so the public’s help is being sought.
“If anyone can help, we sure would appreciate it. I believe this here was in relationship to the earlier shooting, in retaliation for the earlier shooting, but, you know, the family had nothing to do with the shooting,” he said.
The sheriff said he fears that the situation is escalating.
“This thing is going too far. We’re trying to get this thing under control here,” he said.
He urged the public to alert his department or the police if anyone has information in either incident.
“The public needs to be aware and be alert to their surroundings. If they notice anything going on, I hope they will notify the police or the Sheriff’s Department,” he said.
If you have any information about either incident, you can contact the Kosciusko Police Department at (662) 289-3131 or the Attala County Sheriff’s Department at (662) 289-5556, or just dial 911.
