Tyrell Wilson, 23, of Carthage will appear in Kosciusko City Court next week after charges of kidnapping and rape were levied against him Nov. 24.
Because only the alleged kidnapping happened in Kosciusko, he will face that charge here, with the alleged rape charge being addressed in Leake County. He is currently being held in Leake County.
A female called Kosciusko police around 1:30 a..m Nov. 24, according to Police Chief Herbert Dew.
“She told us she had been kidnapped and raped,” he said.
When police responded to Cannonnade Apartments, the female pointed out a vehicle leaving the parking area, identifying it as being driven by her assailant. Police followed and stopped the vehicle and arrested Wilson.
In her report to police, the woman said she was kidnapped in Kosciusko by Wilson, who transported her to Leake County where he allegedly raped her before returning her to Kosciusko.
