Helping Hands has received the gift of a van from Atmos Energy. The van was then painted by Holt’s Auto Body, and the organization’s updated logo was designed with assistance from Kelly Burnham Berry at KB Creative.
According to David Skinner, Atmos Energy director of operations in Jackson, formerly of the Kosciusko office, when the van became available, his first thoughts were to donate it within his former community of Kosciusko.
“I want to express our sincere appreciation to Atmos Energy for their generous donation of a Ford Econoline van, and to Holt’s Auto Body shop for the new paint job on the van,” said Helping Hands Director Matt Tucker. “It is through partners like Atmos and Holt’s that Helping Hands is able to carry on the ministry of serving the needs of our community.”
Tucker said the van will allow Helping Hands to expand the services offered to the community, whether it is picking up donations of food clothing or household items or delivering merchandise between the warehouse and the Helping Hands Thrift Store.
“The van will become a useful tool as we look to the future and be able to better serve those in need,” said Cliff Davidson, president of the Helping Hands Board of Directors.
The organization’s new logo will soon be applied to the van, allowing the vehicle to become a recognized symbol of community helping community through the Helping Hands Ministry.
“Helping Hands is blessed to have community partners like Atmos, Holt’s and Kelly Berry, and we look forward to the future,” said Tucker.
