The residents of Ethel and Sallis head to the polls tomorrow to elect aldermen, and Ethel will also elect a new Mayor.
Ethel will choose from Gwen Sims, Anthony Jerome Barksdale and Wade Breazeale for Mayor. Outgoing Mayor Ophelia Mitchell is not seeking reelection, but is on the ballot for one of the alderman seats. Other alderman candidates are Patricia Bouley, Laura Sanders, Lydia Fair, Amy Thrasher and Paul Stewart.
In Sallis, Brent Busbea, Kelly Hutchison, Glorida Bordelon, Linda Hutchison, Reba Robertson and Shannon Lewis are vying for five open seats.
Ethel voting will be at City Hall/Fire Department; Sallis voting will be at Town Hall.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Remember to bring your identification to the polls. Accepted photo I.D.s are: a driver’s license; state or federal government-issued photo ID; U.S. passport; firearms license; student photo ID from an accredited Mississippi college, university, or junior and community college; U.S. military ID; tribal photo ID; or free Mississippi Voter ID card.
