Two additional women have been arrested in relation to the shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of April 18.
Sue Amy Collins, 41, of Kosciusko, was arrested on May 28, 2019, on a charge of being an accessory after the fact.
Patricia Gail Cain, 33, of Sallis, was also arrested on charges of accessory after the fact.
These two arrests are in addition to the previous accessory after the fact arrest of Elizabeth A. Cain, 30, of Sallis.
All three women are being held on bonds of $20,000 each, after they allegedly helped the accused shooter, Joshua Moore.
Joshua Moore, a 28-year-old white male from Maben, was charged April 22 with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of a controlled substance in the case. Moore remains in the Leake County Jail on a $95,000 bond.
The shooting reportedly took place in a vehicle traveling along Highway 12 East entering Attala County between 2 and 5 a.m. on April 18.
A 32-year-old white female, who is not being named, was shot in the incident. According to Sheriff Tim Nail, at that point, the driver changed direction
and headed toward the hospital in Lexington, but ran out of gas on the way.
A passerby stopped to help and called 911 after assessing the situation. Holmes County law enforcement contacted the Attala County Sheriff’s department after determining that the shooting had allegedly taken place in Attala County.
According to Nail, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is working the case alongside local law enforcement and the vehicle in which the shooting reportedly took place has been impounded.
The victim was airlifted to a Jackson hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
