Neshoba County native Patrick Boyle has been named principal at Ethel High School following approval of the board of trustees at a called meeting last Thursday evening.
Boyle, 34, previously served as assistant principal at Morgantown Arts Academy in Natchez for the two years. Before moving into school administration, he taught at Neshoba Central Middle School in Philadelphia for nine years.
“We are excited to have him in the district after a lengthy process of selection. We look forward to working with him. He has already contributed ideas for the upcoming year,” said Attala County Schools Superintendent Bryan Weaver.
Selected from a field of 14 applicants for the post, Boyle is a graduate of Neshoba Central High School and Mississippi State University with a Master’s degree in education leadership.
“I want to make sure we educate students in the right manner,” Boyle said.
He also said helping improve students’ overall academic achievement is one of his goals.
Boyle and his wife Karol have a seven-year-old son, Matthew.
Boyle succeeds Jim Wood who resigned in May after serving for three years as principal. He accepted a position with the Choctaw County School District.
