After being canceled the previous week because of rain, residents of Ethel and the area turned out Saturday night for the Christmas parade and selection of winners in the home lighting contest.
Overall winner was Amanda Barrett and her fifth-grade class at Greenlee Elementary School.
Christmas Spirit award went to Logan Cummins with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Louis Tyler with his decorated lawn mower was named winner in the Children’s Theme category. Donny Simmons was Creativity winner and Ted Burns took the Big Rig title.
Lighting contest winners were Jessica Shields, Overall; Debra McKinley, second place; Deborah Black, third place.
“A huge thanks to everyone that came out and everyone that participated in the light contest. Every little bit puts our town back on the map,” said Laura Sanders, parade chairman.
