Voters in the Aponaug voting precinct will now vote in a different location.
The Attala County Board of Supervisors approved the motion for the Aponaug voting precinct in district three to join the northwest voting district. Voters in the district will now vote at the Attala County Courthouse, instead of the Methodist Protestant Church.
The change will take effect with the November general election.
In other action the board agreed to a pay raise for the five court reporters. The raise came after being allowed by the state to increase the positions pay $7,184.41 during the first two phases of a three-year implementation.
The board also:
• granted permission to county engineer Christian Gardner to approve payment for stockpile materials during county approved projects;
• approved a bid of $1,720 to replace a security alarm at a vacant county building;
• approved a contract addendum with Efficient Forms, LLS for consultant help with implementation of the Affordable Care Act;
• approved 17 school bus turn-arounds around the county.
