Two cousins are bringing their family heritage in flowers to the public with their new flower shop.
Steve and Glenn Deason are opening God’s Corner Gardener on Friday at its location on South Natchez Street at the previous home of the Church of the Nazarene.
Steve has owned and operated Deason Wholesale Inc., which opened in 1995, for the past ten years, serving floral needs including green plants, blooming plants and holiday flowers for local florists throughout Mississippi along with parts of Alabama and Arkansas.
“I have been in the flower business for 25 years on the wholesale side, but this is a new venture on the retail side,” Steve said. “Over the years I have felt that I wanted to put something in Kosciusko that can take care of everything you need as far as flowers, plants and holiday decorations.”
The Deasons will be joined by Danny Kelly, who will manage the business with 30 years of design experience in the floral industry after previously owning and operating a shop in Greenwood.
The shop will hold its grand opening Friday and Saturday at 8 a.m. with store hours of 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday.
