This past week, the engineering company has started filling holes and getting the streets of West ready for some new topping. While we are traveling different routes than usual, we will all enjoy not having potholes.
The West Civic Club met this past Wednesday for the first of its meetings on the preparations for the Big Black River Festival, coming on September 14, to downtown West. It is early, but it takes a lot of planning with decisions to be made as to how we can improve on the past festivals. For vendors, it is never to early to start planning on attending and getting wares ready.
We are sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Horrace Bouchillion several weeks ago. Our condolences go out to the family.
The town of West would like to officially welcome the Justin Harrell family.
The West Library summer program for kids was a visit here in town of some different types of animals. The kids, big and small, always enjoy seeing these animals. This may be the only opportunity they get to see the various animals. Thank you to the library summer program for taking this opportunity to share.
