The Attala County School Board approved some personnel changes, bought two buses and handled other matters at its meeting held Tuesday, Sept. 6.
The bid of $84,000 each for the two buses was awarded to Waters Truck and Tractor Co. of Kosciusko. Century Heating and Cooling submitted a bid of $26,326.67 which was accepted for replacement of air conditioner in the foyer of the gym at Ethel High School. The cost includes a 10 ton Trane gas package unit and modifying the transfer air duct and exhaust duct on the existing unit.
Bus easements were approved for Dorothy Stewart, Carla Russell, Joe Betty Snow, Brian Rone, Betty Norwood, Janice Hammock and Amberly Smith, Jessica and Jimmy Johnson, Janet Majure, Nickey and Suzie Bain, J.C. Young, Arthur Brown, Ross Bowie Estate/Don Bowie, Tammy Strahan, Ardys Winters, Bobbie Dotson, Thelma Townsend and Roger Bingham.
In personnel matters, the resignation of Demarcus Hogsett at McAdams High School was accepted and Shontellia Ellis was named custodian at McAdams. Additional substitutes named were Lynn Dees, Felicia Ferguson, Margaret Johnson, Carla Summers, Sara McKinney, Barbara Wasson, Angela Miller and Bobby Crowe. Charles Pinkard was hired as a bus driver.
Students Carly Taylor, Hunter and Harley Crittenden were released from attending school in the district. Out of district students who are children of employees were approved for attendance.
