McAdams will play Biggersville at noon Monday in the Mississippi High School Activities Association 1A boys semifinals at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson.
The Bulldogs reached the semifinals with three wins in five days – 80-58 against Sacred Heart, 75-71 over Mt. Olive in overtime, and 73-64 against Leake County Saturday. The Bulldogs have won 13 in a row, including victories over Ethel and Nanih Waiya for the Region 5-1 tournament title.
McAdams outscored Mt. Olive 10-6 in the overtime behind four points by Tyrick Davis and three each by Cameron Fleming and Jaylan Perteet. Fleming finished with 28 points, Davis with 19 and Perteet with 17.
Biggersville, located in Corinth, enters the game with a 22-4 record and a nine-game winning streak. The Lions reached the semifinals with victories over Vardaman 94-32, Smithville 66-34 and Coffeeville 61-48.
The other semifinal, at 1:30 Monday, matches Ingomar and McEvans. Those teams met in the semifinals a year ago. Ingomar won 64-56, then defeated Baldwyn 47-45 for the championship.
The boys semifinals will be preceded by 1A girls semifinals Monday – Biggersville vs. 5-1A champion West Lowndes at 9 a.m. and Ingomar vs. Simmons at 10:30 a.m.
Championship games are scheduled for Thursday, with girls at 1 p.m. and boys at 3 p.m. The full schedule can be found on the MHSAA website at www.misshsaa.com.
