World Series Four Kosciusko Dixie Youth baseball teams will compete in state tournaments this month with a goal of qualifying for the World Series. All four qualified for state tournaments by finishing first or second in their districts.
All tournaments are double elimination.
The six-and-under team plays in a 12-team tournament at Laurel beginning Friday with a 6:30 p.m. game against West Jasper. The tournament is scheduled to wind up Sunday. Six-and-under is coach pitch.
The 11-12, 9-10, and 7-8 tournaments are scheduled for July 9-13, including 9-10 hosted by Kosciusko at Hugh Ellard Park.
Pontotoc will host 11-12, and 7-8 will be at Philadelphia. Brackets have not been set.
The 6-and-under World Series will be at Texarkana, Arkansas, July 22-25. The other four series will be at Laurel August 6-12.
Eleven southern states participate in Dixie Youth baseball. Tournaments were not held last year due to the pandemic.
