Winona Christian only got in one game last week but came away with a pair of big district wins.
Winona Christian swept rival Carroll Academy in district action as the Lady Stars took a 29-23 win while the Stars took a 55-43 win.
Winona Christian will be off this week but will play after Christmas in the MUW Christmas Tournament next week.
Winona Christian boys 55, Carroll 43
The Stars outscored the Rebels in each of the first three periods and took a 12-point win over the rival Rebels last week.
Winona opened the game by outscoring Carroll 16-12 in the first period and 14-11 in the second to build a 30-23 lead at the half. The Stars built that lead to double digits in the third as they outscored the Rebels 16-10 to lead 46-33 going into the fourth. Carroll took the fourth period 10-9 for the final margin.
Jake Ware had a big game with 25 points and six rebounds while Collin Parkinson had 11 points and three assists. Reese Johnson had eight points, 10 rebounds and two blocks while Reese Cooper had eight points, nine rebounds and three steals.
Winona Christian girls 29, Carroll 23
The Lady Stars overcame an early deficit and pulled away in the second half to take a six-point win over the Lady Rebels.
Carroll started fast and led 12-4 at the end of the first period and 14-8 at the half. Winona then outscored Carroll 13-5 in the third period to take a 21-19 lead going in to the fourth period. Winona then outscored Carroll 8-4 in the fourth to take the win.
Bella Roberts led Winona with 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Autum Lishman also had 10 points and five rebounds.
