Four turnovers and a couple of missed scoring opportunities doomed McAdams in a 22-6 loss to Coffeeville that virtually ended the Bulldogs' hopes of making the 1A playoffs.
With Coffeeville ahead 8-0, McAdams had an opportunity to tie the score just before halftime, but Jamar Teague was unable to get out of bounds and was stopped short of the end zone as time expired.
The Bulldogs put together a long drive to start the third quarter but turned the ball over after reaching the red zone.
McAdams' first touchdowns in three games came on a fourth quarter run by Triniko Brown.
Coach Kenneth Nelson said linebacker Tydarius Williams and defensive back Jalen Greer played well
McAdams has two Region 2-1A games remaining, at home Friday against West Tallahatchie and at McEvans next Thursday.
“We have to find a way to get the ball in the end zone,” Nelson said.
West Tallahatchie is 4-4 and 2-3 in region play but was outscored 114-6 by 2-1A heavyweights South Delta and Simmons the last two weeks. The Choctaws are led by senior quarterback Roddarius Moss and junior running back Ja'Quarius McGee.
