The Central Holmes Lady Trojans dropped a pair of games to a couple of larger schools.
The Lady Trojans lost Monday to Tri-County 50-31 and then fell 49-20 to Kirk Academy, both Class 4A teams.
Central Holmes has a full week of games this week with both high school teams being in action. The Trojans were scheduled to host Manchester Academy on Monday and travel to Benton on Tuesday. They will finish out the week on Friday by hosting Clinton Christian.
Kirk girls 49, Central Holmes 20
The Lady Trojans fell behind early as the Lady Raiders built a big lead and cruised to a 29-point win.
Kirk jumped out to a 19-2 lead on Central Holmes and led 34-6 at the half. Central Holmes took the third period 8-6 to cut the lead to 40-14 while the Lady Raiders took the fourth 9-6 for the final margin.
Taylor Spell led Central Holmes with eight points.
In the junior high game, Kirk beat Central Holmes 34-17. Kate Riley led the Lady Trojans with eight points.
Tri-County girls 50, Central Holmes 31
The Lady Rebels outscored the Lady Trojans in every period and took a 19-point win last Monday.
Tri-County led 11-7 at the end of the first and then outscored Central Holmes 23-9 over the next two period to take a 34-26 lead into the fourth. Tri-County pulled away in the fourth, outscoring Central Holmes 16-5 to take the win.
Mackenzie Ward led Central Holmes with seven points.
In the junior high game, Tri-County won 46-36. Allie McBride had 12 points while Kate Riley and Ryleigh Scott had eight points apiece.
