An auction, country store, food, entertainment and demonstrating artisans abounded at the annual Harvest Festival Saturday which drew approximately 1,000 to the French Camp Historic District.
From early morning, sorghum making took place adjacent to the Natchez Trace Parkway where biscuits and freshly made syrup from the nearby mill were offered.
Patrick Thomas and his father Tony Thomas served as auctioneers for the many quilts and other handmade items that were sold. The country store offered homemade jams, jellies, pickles, peppers and numerous handmade items.
On the porch of the Drane House, weaving and quilting were demonstrated by ladies of Tombigbee Pioneer Living History.
Proceeds from the festival went to the support of French Camp Academy and area churches.
