Two Kosy Cardinals youth teams advance to championships

It is on to the Mississippi Gridiron League Super Bowl for two Kosciusko youth football teams. Both qualified with victories in games at New Hope High School last Saturday.

The 9-10-year-old Kosciusko Cardinals defeated the West Point Packers 12-8 and the 11-12-year-old Cardinals defeated the Tri County Falcons 22-8.

French Camp led homestanding Sebastopol 42-0 – after the first quarter — during their region contest last Friday night. The Panthers went on to win 56-14 and it could have been much worse, leading 56-0 at the half.

Edwards, Caradine lead FCA Panthers to 42-7 win

Holman Edwards has been playing quarterback for French Camp for three years while Phillip Caradine is new to the position of defensive end, but both had big games in the Panthers' 42-7 victory over Hamilton on Friday night.

French Camp can clinch a playoff spot with a win at Sebastopol this Friday.

French Camp wins over West Lowndes

French Camp coach Nathan Wright said his team played a “sloppy” game against West Lowndes, but still came out with a 33-14 victory.
“We made a lot of mistakes, but overall we got what we needed,” Wright said.
The Panthers got the win mainly because of the play of Zach Gilmer, Holman Edwards and Clayton Leathers.
