Ethel set to host spring football jamboree

The first spring football practice at Ethel in several years will conclude with the school hosting a jamboree Thursday and Friday.

The jamboree will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday with a varsity game between J.Z. George and Leake County playing three quarters.

Kosy's Ellis wins 4A State 100 meter title

Kosciusko junior Devonte Ellis won the 100 in 10.90, leading the Whippets to a 10th place finish at the MHSAA 4A state track meet Monday with 30 points.

The Kosciusko girls finished 11th with 20 1/2 points.

Ethel's Dotson, McAdams's Lewis claim 1A gold medals

Ethel and McAdams each had one gold medalist at the 1A state track meet last Saturday at Pearl High School. French Camp did not have any individual winners, but the boys and girls teams both finished eighth.

For Ethel, Zakiya Dotson won the girls 200 in 26.36. She was also second in the 400 (59.80).

French Camp tennis season comes to close
