Kosciusko celebrated Senior Night with a 25-11, 25-7, 25-15 victory over Greenwood to clinch the Region 4-4A championship. It's the third straight region title for the Lady Whippets.
Kaitlyn Broyles led the Lady Whippet with eight aces and seven kills. Mary Kimble Price had six aces.
“We played well and had fun,” said coach Taylor McDole. “I think it was a good memory for our seniors on Senior Night.”
Seniors honored are Broyles, Olivia Crockett, Layla Ferguson, Savannah Fulgham and Natalie Ryals.
Kosciusko is 4-0 in region play with two victories over Louisville and one each against Yazoo City and Greenwood. As region champion, Kosciusko has an opening round bye in the 4A playoffs and will begin play with a home match October 11 against the winner of a match between the runnerup in 1-4A and the third-place team in 3-1A.
The Lady Whippets played Starkville Tuesday and will be at Greenwood Thursday. The regular season concludes next week with road matches against Nanih Waiya and Yazoo City.
