The Ethel Lady Tigers split a pair of games last week on the softball diamond.
The Lady Tigers lost 11-4 to Class 4A Houston and then took a 6-2 win over Eupora.
Houston 11, Ethel 4
The Lady Hilltoppers used two big innings to take a seven-run win over the Lady Tigers on Tuesday.
Ethel scored one run in the first while Houston answered with four runs in the second and five in the third. Ethel scored two in the third and one in the sixth. Houston finished with two in the sixth.
Ethel had five hits as Brailyn Rone was 2-for-3 with a triple, double and two RBIs. Emily Mitchell doubled while Lizzy Rae Ellington and Karli Fortenberry each singled and scored a run.
Brooke Mitchell started in the circle and pitched all seven innings, giving up 11 hits, four walks and two hit batters.
Ethel 6, Eupora 2
The Lady Tigers built an early lead and hold on to take a four-run win over the Lady Eagles.
Ethel scored two in the first and one in the second to go up 3-0. Eupora then scored two in the third to cut the score to 3-2 before Ethel extended the lead by scoring two in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Ethel had eight hits in the contest as Karlie Fortenberry was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple with two runs scored and two RBIs. Emily Mitchell was 2-for-3 with two singles while Brook Mitchell and Meredith Moudy each tripled. Lizzy Rae Elington and Hadlee Fancher each added singles for the Lady Tigers.
Elena White started in the circle and pitched seven full innings. She gave up two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two.
All-Star game
Senior Lizzy Rae Ellington was selected to play in the Class 1A-3A All-Star game and will play for the South squad.
