The Ethel Lady Tigers came within one game of playing for the Class 1A state championship.
After splitting the season series, division rivals Ethel and Sebastopol faced off in a three-game series.
Sebastopol won game one of the series 1-0 on Friday but Ethel bounced back and took game two of the series 5-0.
Sebastopol then took a 4-2 win in game three of the series on Monday night to take the series and advance to the Class 1A title series this week.
Ethel finishes the season with a 21-11 season. Ethel advanced to the semifinals series last week with a pair of wins over Enterprise-Lincoln, winning 81- and 8-6.
Sebastopol 4, Ethel 2
The Lady Bobcats took a two-run win in game three of the series to advance to the 1A title game.
Ethel scored one in the bottom of the first and Sebastopol then scored one in the top of the third to tie the game. Ethel then scored one in the bottom of the frame to go ahead 2-1. But Sebastopol scored two runs in the top of the fourth and one in the fourth to take the lead and win. Sebastopol outhit Ethel 6-5 in the contest. Meredith Moudy was 2-for-3 while Emily Mitchell and Karli Fortenberry each singled and drove in a run. Brooke Mitchell and Hadlee Fancher each walked and scored for Ethel.
Elana White started in the circle for Ethel and pitched all seven innings, given gup four runs on six hits.
Ethel 5, Sebastopol 0
With a chance to clinch a state championship berth at home, the Lady Bobcats were shut out on Saturday.
Ethel scored four runs in the top of the second inning. After opening with a solo home run, Ethel put together three straight singles to go up 2-0. After an error gave Ethel a 3-0 lead, a double plated another run for the Lady Tigers. Ethel added a single run in the fifth inning.
Ethel outhit Sebastopol 8-3 in the contest. Brailyn Rone was 2-for-4 with a double and home run while Brooke Mitchell was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Emily Mitchell and Lizzy Ellington each doubled and drove in a run while Elana White and Macee Sisson each singled and scored.
Elana White pitched all seven innings for Ethel and scattered three hits and a walk while striking out five.
Sebastopol 1, Ethel 0
The Lady Bobcats used a dominant pitching performance from Neely Wolverton to take a shutout win over the Lady Tigers on Friday.
Sebastopol scored its lone run in the first inning. Emma Smith led off the inning with a single up the middle. After advancing to second on a passed ball, Smith moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Abbie Wilson. Smith came home and scored on a single to right field by Callie Byram.
Sebastopol outhit Ethel 7-3 in the contest but the Lady Tigers had four errors. Brooke Mitchell, Karli Fortenberry and Meredith Moudy each had singles for Ethel.
Elana White pitched all seven innings for Ethel and gave up one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out four.
