McAdams split two Region 6-1A volleyball matches last week, a 25-14, 25-4, 25-19 victory over Mississippi School for the Deaf and a 25-9, 25-9, 25-16 loss to Sebastopol.
Shawnessey Martin keyed the victory over MSD, serving 18 points in the first set. Kenady Cross, Bryia Harmon and Ameri Gadson also played well for the Lady Bulldogs.
“Overall, it was a good night for the team,” said coach Ashley Brown.
The results left McAdams in second place in the three-team region with a 1-2 record — the victory over MSD and two losses to Sebastopol, which has clinched the region title.
McAdams has a rematch with MSD in Jackson Thursday, needing to win only one set to finish second. If the Lady Bulldogs finish second, they will host the third place team from 8-1A in the opening round of the 1A playoffs October 8.
McAdams played Louisville Tuesday. The final regular season match will be at home Oct. 4 against Ethel.
