The McAdams softball season has not gone the way coach Kris Upchurch hoped it would, but he remains optimistic.
“Were not where we wanted to be, that’s for sure,” he said. “But I would call it a successful season. The girls have learned a lot and I think moving forward they are going to get better.”
Two standouts are senior Shawnessey Martin and freshman Taliah Gadson.
Martin is the Lady Bulldogs’ pitcher. “She’s our do-it-all. She has been our leader. Our vocal leader, our stats leader,” Upchurch said.
Gadson catches and plays third base. “She’s going to be really good if she stays with softball. She’s the player the team will build around in the future.”
The season will conclude Thursday with a game at Sebastopol.
