Kosciusko is assured of making the 4A tennis playoffs after a 7-0 victory over Northeast Lauderdale improved the Whippets Region 4-4A record to 2-0. There was an earlier 7-0 victory over Leake Central.
Kosciusko has two remaining region matches, Louisville and West Lauderdale.
The Louisville match was postponed by rain last week and a makeup date has not been determined. But when it is played, Kosciusko is assured of winning because Louisville does not have any male players. Kosciusko will have at least four points with forfeits at boys singles, both boys doubles and mixed doubles.
A home match with West Lauderdale March 28 will likely determine the region winner. West Lauderdale was first and Kosciusko second last year. The champion will receive an opening round bye in the playoffs, while the second and third place team will play teams from 2-4A when the playoffs begin April 1.

Following Spring Break, Kosciusko will play Eupora at Jason Niles Park March 21 and Ridgeland on the road March 24.
