The Kosciusko Fire Department is hiring and people who live anywhere in Attala County are now eligible to apply.
There was previously a residency requirement regarding how many miles away from KFD employees could live. The change was made in an effort to get more applicants and was approved at the Oct. 18 Board of Aldermen meeting.
Some other topics approved at the meeting include:
• Advertising surplus equipment for sale.
• Transferring KPD officer Travis Quesnot to KFD.
• Road closure for the fall festival.
• Hiring Kevin Rhodes for Solid Waste Department.
• Purchase of a new jet truck to replace an old one.
Campaign speeches were made by circuit judge candidates Devo Lancaster and Doug Crosby.
