A second trip to Choctaw Trails netted a sixth place finish for the Kosciusko boys cross country team at the Clinton Arrow Invitational.
The Whippets finished with a team score of 132, led by Cole Wilson, 13th in a field of 84 with a time of 20:28.44 for 5K (3.1 miles). He was followed by teammates Michael Phinisee 30th (22:44.26) Matthew Nail 39th (23:14.74), Grayson Blaylock 43rd (23:53.87), Tuff Shaw 48th (24:33.79), Colton Thorpe 49th (24:43.55) and Alexis Hernandez 50th (34:44.19).
William Fugate of Madison St. Joseph was the individual winner in 15:59.45, nearly two minutes better than runnerup Trenton Hannah of Morton. Choctaw Central was the team winner with six runners in the top 10.
Kosciusko did not have a team score in the girl race with only two runners. Addyson Rawson was 24th in 26:55.87 and Kimora Winters 56th in 33:34.09.
Choctaw Central also won the girls race. Hendrix Eldridge, a St. Aloysius, eighth grader, was the individual winner in 20:29.22, 10 second better than teammate Samantha Edwards.
Kosciusko was sixth in the middle school two mile girls race, led by Klara Tran 15th in 13:57 for 3K.
Ezra Keeton, Kosciusko's only entrant in the boys middle school race, was 93rd in 14:24.5.
Kosciusko's next meet is Saturday, the Heart & Sole Lauderdale County Invitational at the Okatibbee Lake Dame Course in Collinsville.
