Kosciusko's football home opener has been pushed back until Sept. 30 when the Whippets will host Choctaw Central in the season's first Region 4-4A game. This Friday's game with Choctaw County was supposed to be a home game, but it has been moved to the Chargers' stadium in Ackerman because the new turf at Landurm Field will not be ready.
The game with Choctaw Central will be Homecoming,
Two previous games originally scheduled at Landrum Field were also moved. The Whippets will be on the road for the first five games of the season, including a September 23 game at Forest, and will have only two home games during the regular season. Kosciusko will host Leake Central in a region game October 14 for Senior Night.
Because of the delay, the junior varsity’s first four games will be on the road, with the only home game October 15 against Philadelphia for Band Night.
