McAdams graduate Percy Lewis announced on Twitter that he has committed to playing football at the University of Oregon in the 2022 recruiting class but said that is not definite.
“I won't say it is and I won't say it ain't,” he said.
But he did say Oregon is currently his first choice and he is leaning that way. He has also received offers from Ole Miss, USM, Auburn, Missouri, Syracuse and South Alabama, and has had contact with Georgia and South Carolina.
Lewis played on the offensive and defensive lines at McAdams prior to his 2020 graduation. He has been an offensive lineman at Gulf Coast Community College and said that is where schools are recruiting him. He is listed at 6-8 and 360 pounds.
French Camp coach Nathan Wright described him as a quiet leader. “He has a great attitude and lets his game do the talking.”
Gulf Coast finished 5-1 in the shortened 2020 season to win the South Division but lost to Northwest in the state championship game. Lewis will play for Gulf Coast in the fall.
He plans to sign in the December and move on to his four-year school in January and major in business.
