Whippets close out strong season at 22-6

The Kosciusko boys basketball team saw its season come to a close after falling 62-50 last Tuesday in the opening round of the MHSAA Class 4A playoffs.

Kosciusko led 17-12 at the end of the first quarter and withstood a 16-point second quarter by Pontotoc to take a 29-29 lead into halftime.

Whippets finish fourth in Region 4-4A tourney

Kosciusko fell to Louisville, 40-35, on Thursday in the Region 4-4A semifinal at Northeast Lauderdale High School. The Whippets were also defeated by Leake Central, 55-44, in the third-place game on Friday.

Kosciusko closed its regular season with a perfect 10-0 record in Region 4-4A play after wins against West Lauderdale and Leake Central.

The Whippets defeated West Lauderdale, 64-46, last Tuesday to sweep the season’s series.

Kosy boys improve to 20-4 on season

The Whippets of Kosciusko High School extended their winning streak to five games after they went 3-0 last week.

Kosciusko earned a 68-63 overtime win against Louisville on Tuesday and defeated Northeast Lauderdale, 58-55, on Friday. They concluded their week with a 67-53 win against Louisville on Saturday.
