Entering the week, Kosciusko coach Tony Terry lamented the early spring weather that delayed the team season opener by a week. The Lady Whippets finally got back on the field two weeks ago, and Terry hoped for more compliant weather moving forward so that his team could play on a more consistent basis.

Lady Whippets begin title defense in style

After rain forced the Kosciusko softball program to push its season back a week, the Lady Whippets returned to the diamond and began their title defense with a resounding 17-0, run-rule-shortened win against Choctaw County last Tuesday. Katie Mitchell and Maddy Gilmore shared duties in the circle, and the duo allowed just one hit.
