Ethel volleyball lost close matches to Noxapater and Winston Academy last week, both by 3-1 scores.
“We can look pretty good at times. We are improving for sure,” said Coach Chris Schuster. “We just have to be more consistent. That's the big thing.”
In both matches, Ethel split the first two sets, but dropped the next two.
“We have times when we just have mental lapses,” Schuster said.
Elena White, an eighth grader, and senior Abby Ellington played well in the losses.
On Monday, the Lady Tigers were defeated by Union 3-0.
The loss to Noxapater dropped Ethel to 0-2 in Region 5-1A, trailing Noxapater (2-0) and West Lowndes (1-1).
The Lady Tigers had a rematch with Noxapater Tuesday, and finish the regular season next week with home matches against West Lowndes Monday and McAdams Tuesday for Senior Night.
