McAdams wound up spring football Monday at West Lowndes scrimmaging one quarter each against West Lowndes and Okolona. The Bulldogs came out on the short end of the score in both, 16-6 against West Lowndes and 6-0 against Okolona, but coach Roy Rigsby was pleased with what he saw.
“We didn't win, but we played a lot better. I saw a lot of things that I want to see as a coach. We executed better than last year. Overall, it went pretty well.”
The Bulldogs' touchdown came on an interception return by Jamar Teague. Rigsby named Teague and D.K. William as players who stood out.
Teague shared quarterback duties with Jay Harmon and played safety on defense. “He ran the offense well. Took control of the huddle.”
Williams has been moved from defensive end to middle linebacker, giving him greater movement in the defense and allowing him to communicate better with his teammates. “It gives us another coach on the field,” Rigsby said.
McAdams will compete in Region 6-1A with Ethel, French Camp, Nanih Waiya, Noxapater and Velma Jackson.
