The Big Red Band will soon be donning brand-new uniforms.
“We’re excited,” said Courtney Sanders, Kosciusko band director.
The Kosciusko School Board approved ordering the new uniforms during the board’s Monday meeting.
The board accepted the bid from Stanbury for band uniforms in the amount of $55,562.50. The uniforms were purchased through funds from the district and school and booster fundraisers held during the school year.
It’s been 16 years since the band has had new uniforms.
“It’s been a long time coming, so we’re just looking forward to showcasing them out on the field during halftime,” said Sanders.
Sanders said the new uniforms will not be in until the spring semester of the upcoming school year.
“We will hopefully have them by the spring for the spring concert,” she said. “We will definitely have them for next fall.”
Sanders said band camp started this week.
“We’re geared up and ready to go,” she said.
