Forrest County Supes open construction bids

Petal teams want to ‘close the book on cancer’

"Cancer: Not Here, Not There, Not Anywhere!" "Let's close the book on Cancer," is this year’s theme for Petal Relay for Life, which will be held from 5 p.m.-3 a.m. Friday, May 1-Saturday, May 2.

Katye Parker, Relay chairman and her teams of faithful Relayers have kicked things off with meetings and fundraisers.

OGHS student is Lamar County's DYW

Caroline Glaze is Lamar County’s new Distinguished Young Woman and while she won three categories – self expression, interview and essay, during Saturday night’s competition at the Saenger Theater, the award she is most proud of is the Spirit of DYW, which is voted on by the other contestants.
