Mackane Burchfield
Dumas, Ark. — The First NaturalState Bank (FNSB) is pleased to announce the addition of Mackane Burchfield as a Loan Officer, further strengthening the bank’s commitment to serving Southeast Arkansas and its agricultural communities.
A native of Halley, Arkansas, Burchfield has deep roots in the Delta. Though his career took him away for a time, he maintained a strong connection to the region through frequent visits to hunt, fish, and spend time with family. That enduring bond ultimately led him back home in 2022, when he relocated to Desha County.

Recovery efforts continue in the wake of the devastating Winter Storm Fern, with many Tallahatchians and residents across North Mississippi still languishing in darkness nearly two weeks after the storm hit.
As of Tuesday night (Feb. 3), 1,941, or 27%, of Tallahatchie County electrical customers had no power. In adjacent Yalobusha County, 3,227, or 40%, remained powerless.

Robert “Bobby” Wesley Howell, Sr., 73, of Kosciusko, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at his residence.
Bobby was born on January 3, 1953, in Kosciusko, Mississippi to Cecil Wesley Howell, Sr. and Alice Janette Frazier. He graduated high school in Sardis, Mississippi and was a member of Second Baptist Church. His career was primarily based on construction and asphalt work. He enjoyed working with cars, watching NASCAR and game shows, and spending time with his family.
