The Attala County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect connected to a shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning, Dec. 17.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, Jarius Campbell is wanted for questioning in connection with the incident. Investigators said the shooting took place during the early morning hours, though additional details about the location and circumstances have not been released.

The Startlights Community Center held its 2nd Holiday Gala at the Oprah Winfrey Boys & Girls Club on November 29, 2025, to raise funds to benefit the elderly, homeless and youth of Attala County. Speakers provided information on the importance of drinking water and organ donation from the MS Organ Recovery Agency (MORA). Attendees were provided with a case of water.
