Remember God is the creator. The preacher proclaims that fact in Ecclesiastes 12:1. The Apostle Paul taught the men of Athens it was the “Lord of heaven and earth” “…who made the world and all things in it” (Acts 17:24). Paul further states our creator God Is “…now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:30, 31).
Remember our creator God is to be served and worshiped. When Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil, He used scripture to defeat Satan. One of those temptations was all the kingdoms of the world and all their glory would be given to Jesus if He would fall down and worship Satan. His answer was: “Begone, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY’” (Matthew 4:8-10). Deuteronomy 6:13 and 10:20 are two places where it is so written. On serving let’s also note Psalm 100: “Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture” (verses 1-3).
As we think about our creator God and His love for the world and that He is our God to serve and worship, I would like for us to think about two questions. Question number one: Am I saved? If your answer is ”yes, I am in a saved relationship with God,” then question number two follows: Am I useful? Is my faith active daily or is it just a Sunday morning thing? We need to spend some time in James 3:14-26. I encourage you to read it carefully. For our purpose in this article I quote verse 26: “For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.”
What about it? Is your faith a dead faith? Are you actively remembering God? Is that seen in your serving and worship? Am I making a difference in life? Are you?
