Kosciusko take two wins

Kosciusko boys basketball won twice last week, 66-62 over Yazoo County in overtime and 36-32 against McAdams.

Yazoo County rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit to force overtime. “We started taking some ill-advised shots,” said Kosciusko coach Marquise Bailey.

Ethel basketball team read to host J.Z. George

The Ethel Basketball teams only played one game each last week as the teams were swept on their matchup with Choctaw County. The Tigers and Lady Tigers have an opportunity to bounce back on Friday as they play host to JZ George. On Monday, the two teams will travel to Winona, before traveling to Choctaw County the next day.

McAdams takes win over Leake

Free throw shooting, both good and bad, played a major role for McAdams boys basketball in a 67-66 win over Leake County and a 36-32 loss to Kosciusko.

“We had a little trouble handling their pressure. Fortunately, we had a good night at the free throw line,” coach Kyeson Jackson said of the Leake County game.”

Kosciusko soccer gains win over Cleveland Central

In the final game before the beginning of Region 3-4A play, Kosciusko boys soccer rebounded from a 2-1 loss to Forest with a 4-2 victory over Cleveland Central.

Kosciusko played Forest and Cleveland on back to back days and the Whippets were dealing with injury and illness problems against Cleveland Central.
