Our friendly ghost

I have told about our ghost, “Casper,” that lives on the third floor of our big house in town. My second son truly believes that something or someone jumped down behind him one night several years ago as he was playing his guitar on this floor. He said he felt the puff of air as whatever it was landed just behind him with a thump.

Growing up in the '50s

I complain about the cold weather and all the clothes needed to keep warm and I say “I will never grumble about the hot weather.” Really, I am protesting every day. I do not know about others, but I seem to become really unpleasant as the temperatures rise and I begin to “glisten with moisture.”

About my daddy

Most of us have heard, “Anyone can be a father, but it takes a man to be a Dad.” I so agree with this axiom. My daddy was one of eleven children. He lost his mother when he was eleven years old, and with that many brothers and sisters, he learned to persevere in his life.
