Authorities in Leake County are searching for a suspect involved in a burglary.
According to a release by the Carthage Police Department, around 1 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 someone broke into Howell’s Check Cashing, which is located at 309 Hwy. 16 W in Carthage.
The suspect is a black male wearing all black clothes with a black hat that covers his entire head and part of his face.
The suspect entered the building by kicking the side door open that was located on the east side of the building. The subject took $500 in change, $66 in cash and a .38 hand gun.
Anyone with information that leads to the positive identification and arrest of this individual would be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.
