The 68th annual French Camp Harvest Festival hosted on the campus of French Camp Academy in its 19th century historic village experienced beautiful weather and a respectable turnout on Saturday, Oct. 12.
The main event, a live craft and quilt auction, began at 10 AM that morning following an inspiring message by FCA President, F. Stewart Edwards, Jr. Handmade items contributed by local churches and French Camp Academy were auctioned to the highest bidder. Col. Tony Thomas and his team of auctioneers did a terrific job volunteering their time to make sure churches and French Camp Academy received top dollar from bidders in the audience. Other family-friendly activities were available throughout the historic village. People even had opportunity to meet Kevin O’Brien, the Chief Bread Baker at the FCA Bakery, and experience fresh oven-baked bread. The next Harvest Festival is scheduled for October 10, 2020.
French Camp is located on the Natchez Trace Parkway at mile marker 181, the intersection with MS Hwy. 407/413. For more information visit www.frenchcamp.org, or call (662) 547-6482.
